DESCRIPTION:PARKING LOCATION \nDue to Fenland Rec Centre events (and the G7)\, Fenlands staff are asking cyclists NOT to park there. \nPlease use the free parking at the train station\, and park at the East End of the lot\, per the provided Google Map coordinates. \nWe’ll assemble near our parking spot and ride out at NINE THIRTY AM. \n***Important notes about this ride: \n1) The Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A) is partially closed to vehicle traffic on weekends May 1st until late June\, so cyclists\, other athletes\, and pedestrians have the 1A to themselves UP TO JOHNSTON Canyon. DESCRIPTION:Always weather-dependent (temperatures above 5 degrees\, with no rain or snow definitely in the forecast)\, this route starts in Tuscany and proceeds via 12 Mile Coulee Road\, up past Rocky Ridge Coop\, and turns left into Bearspaw. We go past the golf course and make our way to Nagway Road (Bearspaw Market Road) and continue west to Bearspaw Road. DESCRIPTION:The ride is on a pathway and Highway 1A that closed to traffic. Family friendly \nButts on bikes at 10:00 am! \nMeeting Point: the large BANFF sign on the pathway across from the entrance to the Fenlands Banff Recreation Center parking lot.\nParking: You have several options: Fenlands Banff Recreation Center\, The Banff Train Station or the small parking lot across the road and about 500 m. north of Fenlands Recreation Center. \nRide: approximately 50 km with a few short but significant climbs.
