DESCRIPTION:🚴 Wednesday Night Ride — De Winton Loop 🚴 \n  \nLocation: 19369 Sheriff King Street SW\, Calgary\, AB\, Canada \nDistance: 35km \n  \nWe’re heading south of Calgary to De Winton this Wednesday for one of our classic routes — the same one we’ve ridden in previous years and always a great midweek spin. \nThis route is about 35 km and includes a mix of rolling hills and a few climbs\, so expect a solid ride without it turning into a sufferfest. As always\, there will be lots of regroups\, and all levels are welcome to come out and join. \nWe’ll be rolling out from Kildares in Silverado and finishing back there after the ride for a bite and a bevvy. \nCome for the ride\, the hills\, and the team time.

Thanks also to southies Dan Sobering and others for pinch-leading. \nThis route will take us on country roads through the rolling hills around De Winton. It will be a roughly 35 km ride with 420 m of ascents. \nTraining Ride Cancellations will be communicated via 60 – 90 minutes before the ride. \nWe know better by now than to let weather forecasts rule our decisions in Calgary\, so unless you see a cancellation\, we plan to be there and welcome your company. \nNotes from ride leaders. \nYou’re all welcome to join \n– Helmets are mandatory \n– Lights (particularly rear lights) are recommended. \n– Be mindful of gravel\, especially at turns. \n– Please ride in single file on busy roads. \n– Please check for oncoming traffic and give fellow riders a heads-up before passing. \n– Pls be mindful of pulling out into traffic to pass\, especially going uphill \n– Pls keep a safe distance from the bike in front\, and be very careful on drafting \n– Pls follow all traffic signs and signals\, for example\, stop at STOP signs unless a ride leader is waving you through \n– pls do not simply follow other riders when crossing traffic. DESCRIPTION:***Important notes about Saturday Training rides: \nWe’re continuing to alternate our Saturday rides between the Bragg Creek Training Ride and riding along the Bow Valley Parkway. Saturday\, May 9th\, it will be Bragg Creek. \n1) The ride proceeds along Springbank Road to Highway 22. \nNote that the shoulder on Springbank Road varies from nearly non-existent to sufficient. So until we reach Highway 22\, it’s single-file riding. \n2) There are various distance options. There may not be enough One Aim captains or volunteers on any given Saturday to support the longer distances.
