PARKING LOCATION
Due to Fenland Rec Centre events (and the G7), Fenlands staff are asking cyclists NOT to park there.
Please use the free parking at the train station, and park at the East End of the lot, per the provided Google Map coordinates.
We’ll assemble near our parking spot and ride out at NINE THIRTY AM.
***Important notes about this ride:
1) The Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A) is partially closed to vehicle traffic on weekends May 1st until late June, so cyclists, other athletes, and pedestrians have the 1A to themselves UP TO JOHNSTON Canyon. Vehicle traffic is allowed beyond Johnston.
2) We have various ride distance options for this weekend, and cyclists are welcome to go beyond those distances, *knowing that they’re on their own.*
Banff to Johnston Canyon and Back is 55k.
Banff to Castle Junction and back is 65k (Parks Canada)
Banff to the Corral Creek picnic site and back is 107k.
3) Please RSVP via TeamSnap to let your One Aim volunteers know how many people to expect.

Training Ride Cancellations will be communicated via the One Aim Facebook Group and via TeamSnap Friday afternoon.
We know better by now than to let weather forecasts rule our decisions, so unless you see a cancellation, we plan to be there and welcome your company.

Notes from your One Aim Cap’ns Steve and Colleen Murphy, Dennis Wong, Nolan Matthias, and Paul Boucher:
– Please ride in single file where warranted to share the road with other athletes or pedestrians hiking/walking along the 1A.
– please give fellow humans a heads-up before passing – verbally or with a bell.
– pls keep a safe distance from the bike in front, and be very careful on drafting.
– be mindful of any move that may affect the safety of others
– Rule #1 Safety first.
– Rule #2 is don’t forget Rule #1.
– Everyone is 100% responsible for their actions and safety. Ride leaders are volunteers who guide; they are not liable for your safety.
– Lastly, we cannot control how other people view or feel about cyclists, but whenever we are riding, we become the ambassador of the entire cycling community, so pls keep that in mind, be a good and courteous ambassador.
